WORKING & STRUCTURE OF ORGANISATION RELATED TO ITI:


NOTE:
  • MSDE : MSDE stands for Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
  • NCVT: NCVT stands for National Council of Vocational Training. The vocational training programs are delivered under NCVT. Craftsman Training scheme (CTS) and Apprenticeship Training Scheme (ATS) and two programs of NCVT for Vocational Training.
  • SCTEVT: State Council for Technical Education & Vocational Training.
  • DGT: DGT stands for Directorate General of Training offers a range of vocational training trades in different sectors based on economy /labour market. 
  • NSQF: NSQF stands for National Skill Qualification Frame work. Some trades have introduced and implemented NSQF with Level 4 and Level 5.
  • AITT: AITT stands for All India Trade Test will be conducted in every July.
  • NTC: NTC stands for National trade certificates, will be issued by DGT which is authorized and recognized internationally.

EXPLAIN THE DUTIES OF ELECTRICIAN


Q. What do you mean by electrician?

Ans. A person whose job is to makes, installs and maintains electrical equipment.


Q. Write down the classification of Electrician According to National Code of Occupation (NCO)?

Ans. (i) Electrician general (ii) Electrical fitter


Q. What are the duties of Electrician – General

Ans. Electrician - General installs, maintains and repairs electrical machinery, equipment and fittings in factories, workshops, power houses, business and residential premises, etc.


Q. What are the duties of Electrician – Fitter 

Ans. Electrical fitter fits and assembles electrical machinery and equipment such as motors, transformers, generators, switch gears, fans, etc.


Q. What is the difference between ITI & ITC.

Ans. ITI stands for Industrial Training Institute (Government) & ITC stands for Industrial Training Centre (Private).



KEY SKILLS OF ELECTRICIAN:

  • Using tools, calibration equipment, and wires to build electrical systems.

  • Testing existing wiring for safety and quality control.

  • Updating older electrical systems to meet the current codes and safety regulations required by your state.

  • Repairing broken equipment and making suggestions on newer methods of delivering electricity that replace previous standards.

  • Making plan to learn where panel boards, circuits, outlets and other electrical components are found or will be positioned.



CARRIER PROGRESS PATHWAYS:

  • After passing the electrician trade the trainee can appear in 10+2 examination through National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) for acquiring higher secondary certificate and can go further for general Technical education. 

  • Take admission in diploma course in notified branches of engineering by lateral entry 

  • Can join the apprenticeship training in different types of industries and obtain National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC)

  • Eligible to obtain directly wireman 'B' license, which is issued by the Electrical Licensing Board Authorities.



JOB OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Electrician in local electricity boards, railways, Telephone department, airport and other government and semi-government establishments 

  • Electrician in factories (Public/Private) Install, test and maintain electrical equipment in auditorium and cinema halls

  • Assembler of electrical control gears and switches on panel boards at switch gear factories. 

  • Winder of electrical motors in winding shops

  • Electrical appliances repairer in electrical shops. 

  • Electrician to Install, service and maintain electrical equipment and circuits in hotels, resorts hospitals and flats

  • Assembler in the domestic appliances manufacturing factories

  • Service technician for domestic appliances in reputed companies

HISTORY OF ELECTRICITY:

AC: In the year 1831 Michael Faraday produced dynamic electricity or alternating current (AC) by moving a conductor in a magnetic field.



DC: Alessandro Volta made Voltaic cell year 1800 to produce current or direct current (DC) or electro dynamic electricity by chemical reactions.
